After my luggage failed to arrive in Moscow, I learned that next time I travel out of the U.S.:
1. Pack an extra outfit and SOME liquid necessities, like contact lens solution. Taking out a plastic bag from my carry-on is worth avoiding the pink-eye that I got and couldn’t get treated in Russia.
2. I will not be so bothered about taking a slightly bulky carry on… a little forethought to pack an extra set of clothes (or at least underwear) on a carry-on is worth saving the potential stress in a foreign country.
After my luggage failed to arrive in L.A., I learned:
1. Don’t think I’m immune to Heathrow’s (new) black hole.
2. Don’t think that the luggage will follow within 24-hours, as it did in Moscow. It took some 144-hours to get my luggage back!
3. Don’t pack more than you can recover from an airline (cough, British Airways), including the cost of the suitcase. So not worth trying to look cute in Prague, to potentially lose my Laundry overcoat or Cole Haan boots.
Sorry to hear about your traveling woes. Hope it did not sour your memories too much. Can’t wait to hear about the trip itself.
XOXO,
Lynn
