This is the tasting room and gift shop at Bohemia Sekt sparkling winery in Plzeň, Czech Republic.

I was intrigued at how modern, bright and crisp it was. Such a contrast to the stuffier mission-style California wineries and tasting rooms.
The modernity worked for sparkling wines, but I think I appreciate the ambiance at traditional California wineries more.
Nonetheless, Bohemia Sekt were wonderful hosts to 30+ business students and sent us home with a bottle of Rosé!
90% of sparkling wine sales occur around the holidays and New Year. In order to increase sales in the summer, Bohemia Sekt began a strawberries and sparkling wine campaign, then other seasonal fruits with sparking wine. This has increased their sales throughout the non-holiday year manifold.
Very interesting!! I did a marketing report in b school about how to get people to drink more wine and not think of it as “special occasion” bev. Especially sparkling wine. I loved that project!! That tasting room looks super cool.
